Brighton’s boss, Fabian Hurzeler, says that fans of the southern coast can dream of making an appearance in Wembley in FA Cup.

The Seagulls overcome Newcastle in St James’ Park to reserve their place in the quarter -finals, grabsing a Danny Welbeck strike in more time.

It was a fiery affair, with Tariq Lamptey and Anthony Gordon sent.

But it was Brighton who had the way to continue and win, which means that they are now in a Wembley match.

Speaking after the match, he said: “It was a very emotional game. Lots of ups and downs. The key was that we stayed together, we stayed calm, we tried to find solutions.

“They had a great chance to hit the post, but I then thought that we controlled the game. The penalty was out of nowhere. We played with a lot of courage, we had some small chances, then after conceded, we showed a brilliant reaction.

“We focused on our solutions, to remain clash. In the second half, we were very dominant. We suffered a little when we received the red card, but overall, it was a great performance.

“We can only win something if we stay together and that’s what we have to focus on. In football, there is not much momentum, but we have to understand why it’s like that right now. It is important to stay anchored and continue to do basic things.

“They [fans] can dream and we can work.

The striker Welbeck obtained the winner when Brighton beat Newcastle in the Premier League earlier this season.

And his clever chip to win the match recalled his peak years, but the veteran striker was simply happy to get the winner.

He added: “It’s nice to come here to St James’ Park, such a special atmosphere. Fans have made it an incredible atmosphere – great to get the winner, again.

“I have the impression that we played well. We know that when we arrive in Newcastle, it will be an intense game. They have dangerous players with great capacities, and we have to match this, and we did it today and we have come out in mind.

“When you are on the bench, you have to analyze the game and see where you can make a difference and today is what we have done. You see Joao Pedro at the end who has trouble running. He gave so many things and I think that was what gave us the winner. »»
