Infinite Realms turns fantasy books into living, breathing game worlds with help of AI

Infinite kingdoms wants to transform beloved fantastic books with great follow-up into living and breathable games of play.

The company, born of the game studio startup Unleashed gameswants to authorize fantastic books of successful authors, then transform their creations into games, said Irena Pereira, CEO of Infinite Worlds. It is no different from part of the intrigue of the new electronic arts game, Split Fiction.

Pereira said that the company attacked some of the major problems in the industry. Making games is too expensive, the original IP is risky and the players are tired of the consequences. The platform fees remove the benefits of the company. The result is dismissals among game developers and unhappy players.

“The way to solve this problem is to literally hack the distribution, finding new ways to go to players in terms of connection with their favorite worlds. These may not have the economy which is considered worthy of investment by an EA or a microsoft because the income is too small, but they are of the right size so that we have access to the IP which have a general public integrated, “said Pereira.

She added: “We want to connect the fans with their favorite authors.”

And she said that some of the authors are her personal friends. They sold up to 40 million pounds, their IPs won awards and were on the New York Times bestsellers. Some fans have been obsessed with these IPS for decades and consider them to be at the heart of their own personalities.

“People who love these books are mega fans and would jump at the opportunity to play one of these stories,” said Pereira. “So we have built an engine that can take these books and transform it into a gaming experience, then we create this wonderful virtuous cycle where these book lovers enter our game, then we use it to drive a larger public, which returns and trains more books for the properties we know, but which could have been seated on a dust collection shelf in the past 20 years.”

“The possibilities are endless, and the same workflow and the same partnerships that we have developed with Unleashed games to create around worlds on the fly can allow us to build super-rapid games, in as little as six months, because we have already settled the gameplay,” said Pereira.

She said that in the past, people would buy books and that these books may be suitable for films and television. Game of Thrones and Wheel of Time are some examples.

“But with infinite kingdoms, we build worlds fueled in AI that you can enter inside and interact with some of these characters from whom you fell in love when you were 15,” said Pereira. “And in doing so, we create what we call the Netflix of living worlds.”

I noted that the owners of Wheel of Time put the 14 books in the series in an LLM that they can provide for the content and the players generated by users. He may have encyclopedic answers for fans’ issues, but he can also serve as canon police for anyone creating new experience with tradition.

The things that players create with the tools can be as simple as a video or an ambient screen saver on a TV. Or it could be used to create a full game – the whole range of potential experiences.

“We can see how it evolves because there are so many other IPs, and you can see us become a digital library,” she said. “You could go from one world to another on the fly, and we open this to the players to be able to collect these books. We therefore become, in turn, a digital editor, where we take these properties which printed them, and we mainly use them as the beginning of our transmedia strategy, then transform them into playable experiences. »»

Be respectful of the IP

Infinite Realms wants to create LLM AI around fantastic tradition.

All this will be done with the approval of the authors, and the LLM themselves can govern what players can or cannot do. Of course, the Lord of the Rings of Jrr Tolkien is the biggest fantastic franchise, but there are others like The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks, which has reached 40 million fans, to the little ones who sold a few million. “We become essentially a digital publisher,” said Pereira. “We can deepen our relationships and use data” to make better decisions on marketing and the choice of new IPs.

She added: “It is an excellent cycle where we could use our platform to help revive the book publishing industry.”

Pereira raises a financing tour and hopes to be able to achieve it by obtaining traction with some of the fantastic authors.

The unleashed games will probably look for its own money for Haven and Infinite Realms will develop its own business. Companies can use the same technology but always be positioned separately. Infinite Realms has 18 people, and he has a partner among AI developers who also help.

To judge the market, Infinite Realms creates means to test the IP market by testing fans.
