Fires broke out in the Pacific Palisades, Eaton Canyon, MalibuTHE Hollywood Hills and other areas around Los Angeles County in the middle of a “potentially deadly and destructive“Wind storm that occurred on Tuesday.
Since Sunday, at least 14 people died in the Southern California wildfires, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has received 16 missing person reports related to those fires. Meanwhile, more than 105,000 people have been issued mandatory evacuation orders, and another 87,000 have been subject to evacuation warnings.

Since the fires began, officers have made 29 arrests in the affected areas, including burglary, curfew violations and other violations.
President Joe Bidenwho extended his trip to Los Angeles on Wednesday to visit first responders and those affected, reported the fires as major disaster and ordered the federal government to cover 100 percent of the costs of disaster relief.
“More than 100,000 people have been ordered to evacuate communities affected by the Southern California wildfires,” Biden wrote on X. “At least two people have been killed. And many others are injured, including firefighters. It’s devastating. To the people of Southern California: we are with you.
