According to News 5 ClevelandMeuti was discovered deceased outside the Avenue of Warrensville Care and Rehabilitation Center around 7:30 a.m. Christmas Eve. According to Warrensville Heights police, the last time Meuti was seen by staff at the establishment was at 8:40 p.m. on December 23.
The nurse who last saw Meuti reportedly told police that the 84-year-old woman “appeared normal and was talking while sitting in her wheelchair.”
Subsequently, a second would then have been attributed to Meuti. But around 9:30 p.m., the nurse discovered that the 84-year-old woman was “not in her room”.
According to the media outlet, the second nurse assumed that Meuti had gone to visit her brother. However, the facility’s visitor log shows no record of Meuti’s brother coming to pick her up. Furthermore, the second nurse did not inform her colleagues of the absence of the 84-year-old man.

Around 12:30 a.m., the nurse allegedly accused Meuti’s brother several times. However, he did not respond.
“…she is a new nurse…and she wasn’t sure what to do after that,” the police report states, according to News 5 Cleveland.
Around 6:30 a.m., the nurse finally informed a colleague of Meuti’s disappearance. Subsequently, a “code purple” was issued, a search was carried out around the building and the police were informed. When a police officer arrived at 7:30 a.m., nurses reportedly discovered Meuti outside the facility “lying on her back.”
The 84-year-old man’s cause of death was listed as “environmental exposure with hypothermia,” according to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner. Police are reportedly investigating Meuti’s death and how she ended up outside the facility when she needed help walking.
