The 27-year-old missed almost three months in mid-September 2023 with a foot injury, returning for a month before a knee number kept him away for two months.
He also withdrew six games at the end of the last complete campaign of former manager Erik Ten Hag with a veal strain, returning 32 times this season.
Amorim has not selected Martinez from two of his first three match teams after his arrival from Sporting in November, but he was a starter almost always present since then.

Man United “hard” results
The miserable season of the United League continued when they were beaten at home by Palace for a second successive season With the kind authorization of two objectives by Jean-Philippe Mateta.
“The result is really bad,” said Amorim after supervising a fifth defeat in six home League games that left United 13th. “The performance was a little better than the last games.
“We have checked the transitions fairly well. We have suffered two goals that we can avoid and Lisandro Martinez’s injury was difficult for the team.
“It is normal for fans to feel negative. It’s a difficult season for them, but football can change at times. Better things will come.
