Liverpool winger Ben Doak has been told he is free to leave the club midway through the season.

Crystal Palace and Ipswich are enthusiastic on the signing of the 19-year-old striker. They have already had bids of around £15 million and £16 million rejected for the player. It will be interesting to see if they decide to present an improved offer.

Doak is currently on loan at Middlesbrough and he has done quite well for the Championship side. He will look to sort out his long-term future and focus on his football. A mid-season exit could be ideal for him.

Liverpool will not be able to provide him with the platform he needs, and it would be ideal for him to move on and join the club where he will have plenty of first-team opportunities. According to a report from Wake up the Kopmanager Arne Slot has already informed the player that he is not a key part of his plans for the future.

Meanwhile, Liverpool value the player at around £25m, and it will be interesting to see if any club are willing to offer him that kind of money.

Doak is highly rated across the country and he has the potential to become a reliable Premier League striker with the right guidance. Crystal Palace and Ipswich Town would be attractive destinations for him. It remains to be seen whether they will decide to improve their offers for the player. Other clubs are said to be monitoring his situation and a permanent move to Middlesbrough is not ruled out either.

Former Everton striker James McFadden described him as a player with pace and technical ability.

McFadden said a few months ago: “We all know he is fast and often you meet players who are very fast but who have no technical ability. But you can see he has it. His first contact is good, he takes him where he wants to go.

If Liverpool can fetch £25m for the player it would be a good deal for them and could help them improve their squad.
