One of most frequented airports in the world will be closed all day Friday after a fire caused a power failure.

London Heathrow Airport (LHR) said it “is experiencing a significant power outage” after an electrical substation that provides the airport taken on fire.

“To maintain the safety of our passengers and colleagues, Heathrow will be closed until 11:59 p.m. on March 21,” said the first English airport on X.

Passengers were invited to avoid the airport and contact their individual airline for more details on new flight times.

“We apologize for the disadvantage,” wrote Heathrow airport.
