Ryan Fecteau, the Democratic President of the Maine House of Representatives, deleted his account X early Thursday morning, just days after The republican representative of censoring Laurel Libby.
Libby was censored by the Democratic majority on Tuesday evening for a recent article on social networks stressing that a TRANSGENRE high school athlete won a girl competition. The resolution of censorship was adopted by a vote from 75 to 70 years and revoked the privileges of speech and vote of Libby.
Fecteau declared during a hearing that Libby rights would not be restored until they have apologized, but she told him that that evening, she would not apologize.
Libby stressed that Fecteau’s account had been disabled Thursday in a post.
“Apparently, the president of the Maine Chamber did not like to hear the voices of the people … The president of the State Chamber, Ryan Fecteau, deleted his account X less than 48 hours after the Democratic majority attempt to cancel me,” wrote Libby with a screenshot of his deleted account page.
Fox News Digital contacted Fecteau to comment.

Fecteau has left its active Facebook and Bluesky accounts but did not address the situation with Libby or the deactivation of its account. Many of his messages on these platforms have been flooded with comments from those who criticize his decision to censor Libby.
“You are a coward. A coward without spin, without a fictitus that obviously hates young girls,” said a user on the latest Faceteau’s Facebook publication.
“While shouting that Trump and the Republicans are Nazis and want a dictatorship, you silence a representative to express the valid concerns of his constituent. Highlight the usual hypocrisy of democrats,” said another Facebook user.
Fecteau has occupied his role as lecturer of Maine of the Chamber since 2020. At the time of his election as a speaker in December 2020, Fecteau was the youngest active speaker in the United States at the age of 28 and the first person openly gay to be a speaker of the Maine house.
How transgender in sports changed the 2024 elections and sparked a national counterculture
On Tuesday, Fecteau adopted the censorship of Libby on the basis of the premise that his article on social networks on the transgender athlete identified a minor with a photo and included the name of the athlete.
The Libby post identifying the Trans athlete came last Sunday when she pointed out that a transgender athletics athlete took first place during a jacket competition of the Maine girls after participating as a boy a year earlier.

“It is a remarkable double standard because there are public photos of this individual in many places on social networks and even some published by his school, and, yes, this post became viral, but it was a person who participated in a public event, who was held publicly on a podium and accepted a digital championship medal.
During Tuesday’s vote, Libby also approached the soil of the room with a prepared speech of seven pages on the importance of protecting the sports of girls and women against transgender inclusion. However, throughout the night, her microphone was always deactivated when she tried to say this speech.
“I was completely incapable of my first sentence, to pass a word, before the other side closes me,” said Libby, adding that she had never seen anything like her during her mandate in the Legislative Assembly of Maine.
Libby’s revelation of the Transgender athlete has sparked the national conversation and the coverage of state policy on trans inclusion after the Maine announced that it would not comply with the executive decree “No Men in Women’s Sports” of President Donald Trump.
Trump then promised to reduce the funding of the state for refusing to follow his order during a gathering last week from governors to the White House.
On Friday, the Mills’ office responded with a statement threatening legal action against the Trump administration if it retains federal state funding. Then Trump and Mills launched themselves verbally to the White House during a bipartite meeting of governors.
Only a few hours after this interaction, the United States Ministry of Education has announced that it would be investigate To allow transgender athletes to participate in women’s sports and potential violations of title IX.
