He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Manchester City, a club I’ve loved watching for a long time.
“This team is made up of the best players in the world and I can’t wait to meet them and play alongside them.
“And of course Pep Guardiola is one of the greatest coaches of all time and I am very excited to learn from him and improve my game even more.
“It is a very proud moment for me and my family to join a great club like Manchester City and I am more than ready to take on this challenge.”
City director of football Txiki Begiristain added: “We are very happy that he is joining us and we are all very excited about what he will bring to us.
“For such a young defender, Abdukodir is already very intelligent, in addition to being strong, aggressive and extremely fast.”
