Mandy Moore responds to haters who question if she’s helping her in-laws financially after they lost their home during the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
On Thursday, the actress took to Instagram to announce that her brother-in-law, Griff, and sister-in-law, Kit, lost their home in the Eaton fire. The “This Is Us” star shared that Griff and Kit are expecting their first baby soon and “they need our support more than ever.”
“Griff is a touring musician and has also lost his entire drum/percussion arsenal that he uses to make a living. It’s so much. Many have asked how to help during this unimaginable and stressful time… Consider making a donation and to share to help them rebuild,” Moore wrote.

Moore then edited her caption to address people wondering if she plans to help her family financially.
“And people questioning whether we are helping our own family or awarding an arbitrary amount of money, according to Google, to someone, is NOT helpful or empathetic,” she wrote.

“Of course we are. Our friend Matt started funding me and I’m sharing because people asked how they could help. We also lost most of our lives in a fire. Kindly F OFF. Nobody Don’t force yourself to do anything,” she concluded.
Moore was personally affected by the Los Angeles wildfires.

Earlier this week, the actress shared on her Instagram account that she was able to visit her old neighborhood and witness the devastation.
“We were able to park and walk down our street to bear witness to all the losses. Miraculously, the main part of our house is still standing. For now. It’s not habitable but it’s mostly intact,” began Moore.
“We also lost most of our lives in a fire. Please F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything.”

“We lost Taylor and Griffin’s studio along with every instrument and equipment they ever owned. We lost our garage and our backyard. Everyone we know lost everything. Every house on our street is gone . My in-laws. My brother and sister in law – 6 weeks after welcoming their first baby,” she continued.

“We love this community and will do everything we can to help it rebuild and support it. Thank you all for checking in on us and offering help. Altadena is strong.”

Before posting in the wake of the fire, Moore shared videos of herself and her husband, musician Taylor Goldsmith, evacuating their home in Altadena and going to a friend’s house.
“Honestly, I’m in shock and numb for everyone, so many people have lost, including my family. My children’s school is gone. Our favorite restaurants, razed. So many friends and family loved ones lost everything too,” she wrote in the caption. job. “Our community is broken, but we will be here to rebuild together. We send love to everyone affected and on the front lines trying to get this under control.”

The Eaton fire has killed at least seven people. The growth of this fire “has been significantly stopped,” Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone announced Thursday.
The Palisades Fire, Eaton Fire, Kenneth Fire, Hurst Fire and Lidia Fire have burned more than 27,000 acres in the Los Angeles area, according to officials.
