Enzo Maresca says he is satisfied with the Chelsea transfer window in January despite the loss of the strikers Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu because of the injury.

The two attackers went out during the 2-1 victory of the blues against West Ham on Monday and although Jackson is not considered serious, the Guiu deputy seems ready for a long layout with Maresca, it is a “bad” injury.

Jackson will also miss the FA Cup match on Saturday against Brighton on Saturday due to a problem with the hamstrings.

“I said after the West Ham match that the things we planned in terms of players who had the desire to leave and the players we need,” said Maresca.

“In the end, I think we did all the things we needed. Before the last match, we had two attackers, Nico and Marc.

“Sometimes we also adapt Christo [Nkunku] There, but in case the two have come out, we are going to find a different solution. »»

Felix AC Milan moves “good” for the player

Chelsea sold six players during the winter window, with Joao Felix, Ben Chilwell, Axel Disasi, Renato Veiga, Cesare Casadei and Carney Chukwuemeka all authorized to leave.

Mathis Amougou midfielder, 19 was the only new signature of the St Etienne club.

At the end of Felix, Maresca added: “We decided, all together, that it was a good option for him to leave.

“To be honest, he never complained. He was very good with us, professional, just a question of my decision.

“The reason is that I think we need a defensive balance and when you have so many attacking players, you can sometimes concede transitions and goals. I don’t like it.

Maresca also said that Christopher Nkunku, who had been linked to a January move to Manchester United, will have more minutes.

“Yes, for sure, that’s for sure,” he added. “I already talked about Christo last week.

“Against West Ham, he has already played more or less half an hour. From now on, he can hope to have more minutes and help us. »»
