Meghan Markle And Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at a food bank to comfort victims and first responders amid the ongoing fires in Los Angeles.
The couple was seen Friday handing out food packages to people affected by the devastating fires at the Pasadena Convention Center, which is being used as an evacuation center.
Harry and Meghan were seen hugging José Andrés, the founder of World Central Kitchen, which is distributing meals to victims.
Meghan, who wore a light blue shirt and blue baseball cap, and Harry also took time to console Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo.
The couple was willing to provide whatever support they could, according to the mayor, adding that they were “great people” with “great personalities.”
“They really boosted the morale of the first responders. We visited the Rose Bowl command post and people were very happy to see them,” the mayor added.
The interaction was broadcast live on Fox News, with news anchor Susan Hirasuna being criticized online for describing Meghan as “Princess Markle.” She was also criticized for saying Meghan “hangs out with regular people.”
This comes after the couple opened the doors of their $29 million Montecito mansion to their friends and loved ones who were forced to evacuate during the ongoing wildfires.

Speaking to Fox News, Mayor Gordo said: “They (Harry and Meghan) want to be as helpful as they can be and really, they just want to be supportive.”
He said the couple visited some of the burned homes in Pasadena and Altadena and spoke to those who lost their homes.
“They took the time to meet the people affected and spend time. They are just very caring people and very concerned about their friends and neighbors,” the mayor said.
The couple made an appearance at the center the same day, during which they “anonymously” served food to victims who were unable to recognize the two men with their masks.
Harry and Meghan urged others Los Angeles Residents opened their homes to victims in a statement posted on their website, Sussex.com, as wildfires continued to raze celebrity homes, leaving only ash and rubble.
The couple insisted: “If a friend, loved one or pet needs to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, do so.
“And be sure to check with disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating.”
“Please consider donating clothing, toys and children’s clothing, as well as other essentials,” they said, noting that the American Red Cross is on the ground helping those in need.
Harry and Meghan have already done this, according to The Telegraph, and are working with their staff at the Archewell Foundation to identify the most effective ways to support the community.
Donations have also been made to relief efforts through their foundation, which is also looking for opportunities to volunteer.
