Meghan Markleit’s coming Netflix series, With love, Meghanwas delayed out of concern for the destructive fires sweeping across Southern California. The series was scheduled to premiere on January 15, but was pushed back to March 4.
“I thank my partners at Netflix for helping me delay the launch while we focus on the needs of those affected by the wildfires in my home state of California,” Markle said in a statement. via Variety.
Markle and her husband Prince Harrywho currently lives in Santa Barbara, visited the Pasadena Convention Center last week to help with fire recovery efforts. The couple also shared resources on their official website, including José Andrés’ World Central Kitchen, which is a long-time partner of their own Archewell Foundation. “If a friend, loved one or pet needs to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, do so,” the royals noted.
With love, Meghan was described by Netflix as a show that “reinvents the lifestyle programming genre, blending practical how-tos and candid conversations with friends new and old.” It will feature appearances from actresses like Mindy Kaling and Markle’s. Suits his co-star Abigail Spencer, chefs like Roy Choi and Alice Waters and, of course, Prince Harry.
“I’ve always loved taking something quite ordinary and elevating it,” Markle says in the trailer, which shows the Duchess of Sussex reigning over the kitchen. “Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking about them.”
The series’ announcement came shortly after Markle’s. surprise return on Instagram, which has seen her share three posts so far. Although Markle’s relationship with social media has been tenuous following her marriage to Prince Harry and their departure from the British royal family, she has apparently been planning her return to social media for a few years.
