The Bible was inspiration for countless stories and adaptations, notably Russell Crowe Noah, the classic, The ten commandments with Charlton Heston, and even Vegan. LegionReleased in 2010 and now available on Netflix, shows a version of the biblical apocalypse which transforms the angels into the instruments of the disappointment of God, transforming the usual stories of the second coming and the rise of the forces of hell on his head . It is also another action than the horror hated by criticism, but still successful enough to have generated a series of suites on Syfy.
Heaven brings hell to earth
Legion does not transform the devil into a good guy like Netflix Lucifer. Instead, it transforms Michael (Paul Bettany) into a hero trying to save humanity under the belief that they deserve a second chance. The celestial host, having humans in grotesque moments of body horror, who seeks to eliminate a small group preparing in a dinner while the sky descends around them. Among the survivors of dinner is a young pregnant woman, Charlie (The Orville Adrianne Palickki), bearing the future Savior of humanity.
The rest of the human survivors in Legion are barely expanded enough to call them characters, but yet the casting is filled with recognizable faces. From Dennis Quaid as owner of the dinner in Tyrese Gibson, Charles S. Dutton, Kate Walsh and Willa Holland, you have already seen everyone in other roles, none of whom can do much with the equipment. The exception is Lucas Black, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift As Jeep, which quickly appears to be the best hope of the child for survival.
With a large high budget budget
The biggest problem with Legionand its slightly offbeat streaming On Netflix, because it is easy to accelerate or jump the scene, despite the crazy configuration and the opening sequences that culminate with the disturbing arrival of a truck of ice cream, the rhythm is so extinct that it seems that nothing happens for several scenes. Then everything goes in hell, and the last third has the impression of rushing towards a conclusion with a literal blow. It is in these moments of pure horror, with the back of humanity against the wall and the flying bullets against angelic monstrosities, that the film finally comes to life.
Legion is not the best movie on Netflix Despite being a surprise box office stroke, winning $ 67 million worldwide against a budget of $ 26 million, but he obtained a strange renewal on Syfy in 2010 with the series of series Domination. Not featuring any of the same stars as the film, the show is 25 years old in the Apocalypse, centered on Las Vegas, now a fortress called Vega. Michael is back, leading humanity against his former brothers, led by Gabriel.
As with the film that preceded it, Domination is filled with high -level concepts that he did not have the budget to see correctly and remains better in the abstract than to look at it. Legion East A better watch on Netflix when it is separated from the cost of a cinema ticket, but it is clearly always a B film with a script that is tough on the edges. Some special effects are impressive, including man in ice cream, but it may be the most effective as a palette cleaner after a more intense horror film like HereditaryAnd it is better with friends who can appreciate madness on a budget.
