The office of the independent public audit of France shared its assessment of the deficit of the retirement system with Prime Minister François Bayrou this Thursday. It is the starting point for a renegotiation of the reform of pensions of 2023 which brought the legal retirement age from 62 to 64 years. The representatives of workers and employers will start the discussions next week. An option on the table to reduce this deficit is to complete the existing contributions of workers and employers with private sector pension funds.
