Paris Hilton Launches Emergency Fund Amid Los Angeles Wildfires

More residents are being forced to evacuate as wildfires continue to ravage Los Angeles. Mass evacuations were ordered last night in Brentwood and Encino, while more than 10,000 structures (including homes and offices) were destroyed, reports the Los Angeles Times.

Among those affected was Paris Hilton, who revealed in an emotional social media post, she had to watch her Malibu home burn. “Heartbroken beyond words.💔 Sitting with my family, watching the news and seeing our house in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience.😢,” wrote the star Wednesday evening. She then thanked the first responders and firefighters who worked to stop the fires, and added that she 11:11 a.m. Media Impact Team would support local non-profit organizations.

Hilton took to Instagram on Friday to share another update. “💔 My heart goes out to everyone affected by the devastating fires here in Los Angeles. Although I lost my home in Malibu, my thoughts are with the countless families who have lost so much more: their homes, their cherished memories, the communities they loved, and their sense of stability 🙏,” she wrote .

Following her latest post, the star announced a generous donation to displaced community members: “As a mom, I can’t imagine the pain and fear of not having a safe place for your babies, so I am launching an emergency fund through my nonprofit 11:11 Media Impact to support displaced families with young children I’m starting with a personal contribution of $100,000, and will match any additional dollars raised. until $100,000 more I’m looking for others to donate and partner with me to do our part!

As for how the funds would be used, Hilton then listed her nonprofit’s goals, including providing cash assistance to families in need, providing short-term housing, delivering essential goods to evacuation centers and support to local animal shelters. The reality star also thanked Amy Marks Dornbusch, with whom she teamed up to raise $200,000 for Basic responseas well as Baby2Baby, with whom she worked to distribute supplies for babies and young children.
