Summary
Pinnacle West is an electricity supplier and has no natural gas operation. Thanks to its public state service and regulated by the federal government, Arizona Public Service (APS), it has production, transmission, large and distributing electricity to 1.4 million customers in Arizona. The company has around 7 GW of generation capacity which includes the exploitation and partial property of the largest nuclear generation plant in the United States, the Palo Verde factory is located outside of Phoenix and has around 4 GW generation capacities. The 2024 generation mixture of the company is around 36% nuclear, 32% coal, 28% natural gas, the rest from renewable sources. Management has a 2030 objective to reach a fuel mixture which is 45% renewable and a 100% clean energy production target by 2050.
