Living a simple life and having a penchant for musicals, Bernie, radiates warmth and establishes a reputation as one of the most generous people living in Carthage, and cities, although various documentary style confessions, admit that they are hypnotized by its charm.
Bernie’s life changes considerably when he became friends with the recently widowed widow Marjorie Nugent, an extremely rich woman who is the great fortune of oil trade and banking services. Hated by each person living in Carthage, there is no shortage of city dwellers willing to speak of the terrible of a human being, by creating the dynamics which is represented throughout the film.
Taking advantage of the big life while traveling in exotic places and having extravagant lunches with Marjorie, Bernie is closer to the widow, who sink slowly and governs his life with an iron fist. In Bernie, However, it is always distinctly Jack BlackBut with a touch because of the complex of a character that Bernie Tiede is in fact according to the fiction that the film establishes. Whether or not it is Bernie is 100% truthful in his memory of real events, what we see on the screen is a man who only wants to give, cares deeply about his community and is pushed to the point of not coming back when someone benefits from his kindness to the point of controlling each facet of his daily life, forcing him to reach his point of rupture.
Never lose his identity as one of the most explosive a-visers that Hollywood has to offer, Jack Black is jostling it and never seems unpleasant because his representation of Bernie Tied comes from a real place.
