The PM 2025 internship program, which is part of the government’s skills development efforts, is approaching its registration deadline. Potential candidates have until March 12, 2025 to apply for the program, which aims to offer young people a practical work experience in some of the main Indian companies.

The second round of the pilot phase of the PM internship program (PISS) currently accepts requests, and the deadline is next week. This government initiative, announced by the Minister of Finance Nirmala Sitharaman in the Union 2024-25 budget, is designed to provide participants with essential skills, thus improving their employability on the competitive labor market. Participants will acquire practical experience in professional environments, crucial for their professional progress.

Demand process

To request the PM internship program, interested and eligible people must follow these steps:

Visit the official pminternShip.mca.gov.in website.

Create an account on the portal by providing personal details, educational qualifications and other necessary information.

Develop a profile with academic history, skills and areas of interest to match appropriate internship opportunities.

Explore the available internship opportunities and submit your request before March 12, 2025.

Once the success of the internship is successful, the trainees will receive a certificate of completion of partner companies participating in the PM internship program.

Eligibility for the PM internship program

Applicants must be Indian citizens aged 21 to 24 on the deadline for request.
To be eligible, candidates must not be employed full -time or engaged in full -time studies. This includes candidates registered in online or remote learning programs.
In addition, candidates must have completed their secondary school certificate (SSC) or its equivalent secondary secondary certificate (HSC) or its equivalent.
Alternatively, candidates can hold a certificate from an industrial training institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a diploma in graduation such as BA, B.SC, B.com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.

Financial support

Trainees will receive an RS 5,000 monthly allowance for the duration of the internship, which would last 12 months. Initially, companies will pay 500 rupees per month depending on attendance and performance, the remaining 4,500 of Rs are directly transferred from the government to the bank account linked to Aadhaar of the trainee.

In addition, each trainee will receive a punctual subsidy of 6,000 rupees when registering for the program, more softening the financial burden of the participants. This financial aid is designed to support trainees because they focus on obtaining a precious work experience.

Insurance coverage

Insurance coverage is another significant advantage offered by the PM internship scheme. Trainees are insured under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, the government covering premium costs. Companies can also offer additional accidental insurance coverage. These measures will ensure that trainees are financially protected during their mandate, which allows them to focus on their carefree professional development.
