The governor of Illinois, JB Pritzker, signed a trade agreement with the State of Mexico – commonly called Edomex to distinguish it from the country as a whole – during a trip to the country on Monday, aiming to deepen economic cooperation.
Pritzker directed the delegation State representatives and business leaders on a commercial mission in Mexico, where he signed an addendum to the Memorandum of understanding of Illinois-Mexico Sister-State (MOU) alongside the State of the Governor of Mexico Delfina Gómez Álvarez.
The Pritzker office confirmed to Fox News Digital that the memorandum of understanding – an uncompromising agreement between two or more parties which expresses an intention to cooperate – was between Illinois and the State of Mexico, one of the 31 states that make up Mexico.
“Mexico has been an essential partner of the State of Illinois for decades, and I am proud to keep myself alongside Governor Gómez Álvarez and to assert the importance of this continuous relationship,” Pritzker said in a statement. “More than ever, we must reassure our neighbors in Mexico that Illinois will remain a lighthouse of economic and cultural cooperation and opportunity for our people.”

“To do so on companies and taxpayers suffering from Illinois, families who are forced to leave the State, this beautiful state, which is unknown, but it is Pritzker,” said Salvi about the trip of the Democratic Governor. “He lives in a bubble of unreality and he hurts us. He is a big wounded here in Illinois.”
