The co -owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, would consider another series of job cuts in the context of current costs reduction measures at the club.

UNITED’s higher figures have confirmed that additional cost reduction strategies are explored, the club that has lost nearly 300 million pounds in the past three years. An initiate described the situation as “unbearable”.

Although the club did not directly address reports suggesting that the Ineos group, chaired by Ratcliffe, envisages between 100 and 200 layoffs.

Another potential cost reduction decision involves the possible closure of the London office from United in Kensington.

However, club officials insist that they will continue to have a presence in the capital to focus on global marketing and commercial partnerships.

Ineos has already implemented significant discounts, in particular by reducing 250 jobs, abandoning the role of SIR Alex Ferguson as a remunerated ambassador and by ending the trips of the free staff for the cup finals.

The reasoning behind these measures is to redirect the funds to strengthening the team of the first team. The previous layoff series would have saved the club about 45 million pounds sterling per year.

Jackie Kay, head of operations of the United team, is expected to leave after almost three decades at the club. His departure marks another significant change under the direction of Ratcliffe.

In December, Ratcliffe warned that “more difficult and unpopular decisions” would be necessary to move the club in the direction it plans.

Many UNITED employees, some of whom were already affected by job cuts, recognize that the club had become “inflated” in terms of staff. However, the extent of the discounts has left many shocked and frustrated.

Ratcliffe has already injected 300 million pounds sterling into Manchester United, with a large part allocated to the upgrading of the Carrington Training Center and the planning of a possible new stadium.

The most recent financial statements of United have revealed a net loss of 113.2 million pounds Sterling for the year ending on June 30, 2024.

The club had previously reported losses of 28.7 million pounds sterling in 2022 to 23 and 115.5 million pounds sterling in 2021-2022, with cumulative losses exceeding 370 million pounds sterling in the past five years.

Ineos and Ratcliffe were criticized to increase the price of tickets to £ 66 per game, without reduction for children or retirees.

On the ground, Manchester United’s performance was disappointing. They currently occupy 13th place in the Premier League, leaders of the Liverpool League League by 27 points and the top four per 14 points.

Under the new property, the club spent more than 200 million Sterling pounds for new signatures on two transfer windows.

At the same time, they facilitated the releases of key players, the midfielder Scott Mctuminay moving to Napoli and Marcus Rashford joining Aston Villa on loan.

The high -level signatures Jadon Sancho and Antony were also loaned as part of the team’s reshuffle.
