THE Rose Bowl Half Marathon and the 5K scheduled for January 19 was postponed due to wildfires in Southern California.
This is the fourth sporting event in the area that will be postponed due to the fires. The Kings and Lakers games were postponed and Monday night’s Vikings-Rams playoff game was moved to Arizona.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the ongoing fires in and around the city of Pasadena and the greater Los Angeles area. …The well-being of our participants, volunteers and the community is at the heart of every decision we make” the McCourt Foundationwhich sponsors the race, said in a statement.

The race has been running since 2019. Runners travel through the Pasadena neighborhood near the legendary stadium before finishing the race on the field.
The fires have burned approximately 30,000 acres, destroyed more than 10,000 buildings and left at least 10 people dead.
