The co -owner of Manchester United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, said that some club players “are not good enough” and “too paid” because he revealed that the club would pay for the players he inherited this summer.

Ratcliffe spent more than 1 billion pounds sterling To join the club and is in charge of football operations in Old Trafford.

He supervised a campaign that included the dismissal of Erik Ten Hag and the hiring of Ruben Amorim – but United has had a horrible season.

The Amorim team is 14th in the Premier League.

Ratcliffe said to the BBC: “If you look at the players we buy this summer, which we have not bought, we buy Antony, we buy Casemiro, we buy Andre Onana, we buy Rasmus Hojlund, we buy Jadon Sancho. These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not, we have inherited these things and have to settle this.

“For Sancho, who now plays for Chelsea and we pay half of his salary, we pay 17 million pounds sterling to buy it in summer.

“Some are not good enough and some are probably too paid, but for us to model the team for which we are entirely responsible and responsible, will take time.

“We have this period of transformation where we go from the past to the future.

“There are great players in the team as we know, the captain is a fabulous footballer. We really need Bruno Fernandes, he is a fantastic footballer. »»

Sancho scored 12 goals for United but fell in disgrace under Ten Hag, spending the second half of last season on loan to former club Borussia Dortmund before joining Chelsea last summer.
