Sonos continues to clean house as the company recovers from the blows it took following a mobile app redesign last year. Just one day after CEO Patrick Spence of the company, product director Maxime Bouvat-Merlin is also leaving the company. He will act as an advisor to interim CEO Tom Conrad during the leadership transition before leaving Sonos entirely.
Conrad Sonos employees are speaking out about the latest leadership change in a company-wide email today. The CPO role is being removed, with the Sonos product team reporting directly to Conrad for the time being.
Sonos has been in free fall since releasing an update to its mobile app in May that contained numerous bugs and was missing key features. The company’s financial results plunged and it laid off approximately in August. Sonos has made several efforts to retain its customers of his to recover from the app’s launch, and the decision to replace senior management appears to be the latest move to regain public trust in the company.
