South Korean investigators on Saturday again asked the country’s interim president to order presidential security services to comply with an arrest warrant for the impeached president Yoon Suk Yeol.
Security services, along with military troops, on Friday blocked prosecutors from arresting Yoon Suk Yeol during a six-hour standoff inside Yoon’s compound. Investigators obtained the arrest warrant for Yoon following his brief declaration of martial law last month.

The Senior Officials Corruption Investigation Bureau, which is probing the case, said on Saturday it had again asked Acting President Choi Sang-mok, the country’s finance minister, to order security services Presidential authorities to cooperate with the arrest warrant.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance declined to comment.
Police asked the head of Park Chong-jun’s presidential security department to appear for questioning on Tuesday, Yonhap News reported.
Yoon’s martial declaration on Dec. 3 stunned South Korea and led to the issuance of the first arrest warrant against a sitting president.
