Supergiant Games – Title Developers like Bastion, Transistor and the Hades series – has long been proud of the development of games rich in account. Voice actors are reactive and involved in the current changes and get to know their characters for an extended period. This is why it was such a shock when one of these voice actors publicly involved that the developer reborn the voices to avoid having to work with Sag-Aftra on the strike protocol.
Marin M. Miller, a vocal actor who plays several roles in the Hades series, taken on social networks on Wednesday To encourage fans to send an e-mail to an anonymous studio, strongly implicit to be supergiant, ask them to sign a provisional contract allowing Miller to express their characters. Under the current Sag-Aftra rules, studios can work with union talents by signing a provisional contract which includes AI protections despite the strike that does not officially end.
SAG-AFTRA is looking for stronger and more permanent protections against AI, both in terms of uses for vocal games and training on existing vocal game. This strike, and the protections required, are largely focused on video games and have been continuing since August. Miller believes that the absence of this provisional contract is the reason why they were not contacted to resume their role and could have been overhauled for this.
Without directly responding to Miller, Supergiant has published his own declaration on social networks Deptering that they were redesigning all the roles and that the studio was against the use of AI to replace the actors in the voice. In a response to the game developer Published publicly, Miller declares that they asked Supergiant the flexibility to bring them back years ago.
Supergiant has not responded publicly since and probably any negotiation between the studio and Miller would take place in private. This recalls that Sag-Aftra’s strike is still underway and does not seem to arrive at a conclusion as soon as it is.
