Whole families, women and children included were killed as part of last week’s sectarian murders, the United Nations said.
Al-Sharaa said the government would investigate “violations against civilians and identify the officials”.
The United Nations Human Rights Office counted 111 civil murders, but expects the figure to be much higher.
“In a certain number of extremely disturbing cases, whole families – including women, children and combat individuals – were killed with towns and villages mainly cities and villages in particular,” the spokesperson for the United Nations Human Rights Bureau Al Kheetan said on Tuesday.
“Many documented cases were summary executions. They seem to have been carried out on a sectarian basis.”
Abdulhamid al-Awak, which is part of a committee responsible for Al-Sharaa to write the new Constitution which will establish a transitional government for five years, said on Thursday at a press conference that the Constitution would demand that the head of state be Muslim and that Islamic law be the main source of jurisprudence.

But Al-Awak said that the Constitution would include protections for freedom of expression and the media.
“There are many, a lot, a lot, many clauses in this constitution which are hilarious,” said al-Assad.
“”TThe transition period is five years, but it can be extended indefinitely, you know, on the basis of security and political conditions. You know, what does that mean?
“The president, he could appoint a third of the parliament with full -fledged legislative powers. You know, it is once again. All the political parties at the moment are suspended. No opposition, no representation. Nothing.”
The document “will balance social security and freedom” during the rock political situation, said Al-Awak.
The Constitution also affirms that the State is “determined to fight against all forms of violent extremism while respecting rights and freedoms” and that “citizens are equal before the law in matters of rights and duties, without discrimination based on race, religion, sex or line”.
He prohibited weapons outside of military control and repressed “glorifying the old Assad regime” as a crime.

The Democratic Syrian Council led by the Kurds rejected the document project on Friday and asked that it be rewritten, arguing that it was not far enough to protect the many ethnic communities of Syria. He argued that the Constitution “reproduced authoritarianism in a new form” and declared that “any constitutional declaration must be the result of a real national consensus, and not a project imposed by a single party”, even after a breakthrough agreement on Monday with the armed authorities supported by the United States.

Al-Assad called on the United States to intervene to help Syria establish a “real representative democracy”.
“This is certainly not what the Syrian people were looking for, those who rose against the previous regime. It is not the regime they want,” he said. “And that is why we want the United States to help us head for a real representative democracy.
“How are you going to leave an Islamist regime managed by extremists in the Mediterranean, who will start to recruit thousands of people?
“They could be in two and a half hours in Cyprus, then the Greek islands and Europe and Europe in the United States. … You remember what Al-Qaeda did when they were in Afghanistan. And Afghanistan is not in the Mediterranean.”
