Tesla sales fell in Europe in January, suggesting a decreasing demand for vehicles of the American automaker after its billionaire Elon Musk chief intensified its highly publicized interventions in the region’s policy.

The manufacturer EV sold only 9,900 units in Europe last month, a drop of more than 45% compared to the same period in 2024, according to data from the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association. Its overall share of new car recordings fell to 1%, compared to 1.8% over the same period.
