Mumayaz and Gogo Yubari look set to go head-to-head in eight races at the Lingfield all-weather course this afternoon, live on Sky Sports Racing…
1.42 Lingfield – Title by Mumayaz and Gogo Yubari
Tony Carroll leads the way in the all-weather championships and attempts to continue his fine run with Mumayaz in the £30 Free Bets with BetUK Handicap. He is remarkably consistent with a record of five victories and 19 places in 50 starts. Jack Doughty comes on board again for the eighth time after winning against him in Bath in October.
Gogo Yubari has been kept busy by Dylan Cunha with four straight points and she looks to get back on the scoresheet here.
Reconnaissance mission is approaching his 72nd race and seems in better spirits than ever, running with great credit the last two times, and he remains on the same mark today.
3.12 Lingfield – Tortured Soul title and Alfheim in form
Alfheim has been a revelation since joining the George Boughey yard to replace Jessica Harrington, winning in her last three appearances. She has built a very good relationship with driver Tommie Jakes and she will be a danger to all under penalty when she lines up in the Free Bets with BetUK Bet Club Handicap.
Tortured soul was victorious last time and gains 3 pounds for his victory at Wolverhampton. Neil Callan is back at the plate with Jack Doughty keeping the edge over Tony Carroll’s other runner. Upepo.
James Owen and Hector Crouch, who team up here with Khangaialso performed very well in the all-weather championship standings. With three wins and three places in his last six starts, Khangai could well be a candidate for All-Weather Horse of the Year and he is looking to improve his credentials here.
1.12 Lingfield – Undefeated Al Waqidi returns from dismissal
You very rarely see a horse off the track for the better part of four years, but Jamie Osborne brings the undefeated Al Waqidi returning from an absence of 1368 days Best Odds Guaranteed at BetMGM Novice Stakes. He was with Charlie Appleby in his youth, warranting strong support on debut at Wolverhampton before scoring in a very sexy Novice Stakes at Newmarket. Having cost £16,000 in the Horses in Training sales, Osborne looks to have a great prospect on his hands if he returns to his old form.
Groovy baby has become a bit of a nightmare for punters, with a string of placed efforts under his belt, most recently falling by a neck at Newcastle last time out. She looked like a winner before being caught late, but she probably ran into a pretty useful guy there.
Next tip joins Archie Watson after working at Dermot Weld and could be a smart deal given his exceptional pedigree. With a score of 67, she looks to break her first title in a race that appears winnable.
