Today nyt Shutters Puzzle has a fun theme and I found the words easy to locate. But one of them surprised me. Let’s just say that I don’t remember Perry de Phineas and Ferb Be a dangerous critical in this specific way. If you need clues and answers, read the rest.

Your goal is to find hidden words that match the theme of the puzzle. If you are stuck, find the words you can. Whenever you find three words of four or more letters, the strands reveal one of the theme words. These are the words I used to obtain these clues, but the words of four letters or more that you find will work:

These are the answers that are linked to the theme. The goal of the puzzle is to find them all, including the spangram, a theme word that reaches one side of the puzzle to the other. When you have them all (I originally thought there was always eight but that the number can vary), each letter in the table will be used. Here are the nonspangram answers:

Here are some of the subjects of the strands that I have found the most difficult in recent weeks.
# 1: Dated slangJanuary 21. Maybe you didn’t even use this jargon when it was cool. The most difficult word: Phat.
# 2: Thar is blowing! January 15. I guess marine biologists could suck this one. The most difficult word: Baleen or on the right.
# 3: Broken-downJanuary 9. Similar to the puzzle of January 15 in that it helps to know a lot about marine creatures. Sorry, Charlie. The most difficult word: bigeye or skipjack
