The American president says “no need” for the predecessor to have access to classified information.
President Donald Trump announced that he was revoking the access of former president Joe Biden to intelligence briefings in his last act of reprisals against his rivals.
Trump said on Friday that there was “no need” Biden to maintain his “security clearances” and that he took the action in response to his predecessor revoining his access to classified equipment after his departure.

Former presidents have traditionally received intelligence briefings as requested, although access is provided to the only discretion of the president in office and no official security authorization process is involved.
Biden did not immediately comment on Trump’s decision.
