The cost of prescription drugs is expected to rise in 2025 and beyond, according to TD Cowen’s 30th annual Drug Price Survey. The investment bank surveyed 27 healthcare organizations, pharmacy benefit managers and hospitals during the fourth quarter of 2024, after the election. This group was responsible for about a quarter of total drug spending in the United States in 2024, or about $179 billion. Respondents expressed a general consensus that drug prices are expected to continue to rise steadily, fueled by a pipeline of very expensive treatments.
