If you are trying to entertain yourself with an avant-garde satire film and on a low budget and blaxploitation which constantly breaks the fourth wall, then look no further than the 2001 Pootie Tangwhich is currently streaming for free on Pluto. Centered on its titular protagonist, who speaks in a made up of made up of exaggerated street speeches which are never fully explained or translated, Pootie Tang is an absolute mess of a film with regard to the intrigue and the development of stories, but so ambitious in a cinematographic sense that you cannot prevent yourself from being fascinated by its disjointed events because they have been aggressively in your eyeballs.
As inaccessible as Pootie Tang Maybe according to the writer / director Louis CK, who was dismissed from his own film during his crucial publishing phases, it is always worth your time if you are watching it – not as a film, but a series of vignettes filled with familiar faces of the class of CK graduates who want to make jokes only as possible without any consideration for the established fiction.
In other words, Pootie Tang is so inaccessible that you just have to see it for yourself.
Has a little sense, but not really
Pootie Tang Concentrates on his eponymous character (Lance Crouther), who is the man, musician, actor, public figure and hard to cook for the greatest command because of the ease with which he can deposit while never losing his composure. Attributing his powers to a belt that his father, Daddy Tang (Chris Rock), gave him, Pootie Tang seems to be an unstoppable force of nature whose young influence on the youth of the nation has dropped the CEO of Lectorcorp, to the main part.
Resolve to fly the resemblance of Pootie Tang to promote cigarettes, alcohol, fast foodAnd other products deemed harmful by our protagonist thanks to his many public service announcements, Dick does everything in his power to use imitators to get into the masses with a single thing in mind: profit at the expense of the well-being of the nation.
I can’t get out of the rails because it was never on them
The statement above for Pootie Tang Tells a concise story of betrayal and greed of companies, but the film is barely held from a narrative point of view. While a healthy amount of humor comes from Pootie Tang in the process of living a certain number of incidents that change life, most of these exchanges end with everyone by raising their shoulders and quickly passing towards the next scene without ever mentioning what is happening simply, simultaneously knowing his own humor while being hilarious in its own right because of the frequency of what does not happen with the frequency.
In addition, and I think it is a justified criticism, when you have comedians Like Chris Rock, Wanda Sykes, Dave Atell and Todd Barry all trying to make jokes at the same time, only many of them will land because you do not get any significant dialogue, but rather a bunch of jokes in competition for punchlines instead of advancing the story.

However, Pootie Tang Has a lot to do thanks to its cinematography and its unique direction, which involves comic transitions, a shock cut and an insistence on the breakdown of the fourth wall each time it can cause a cheap laugh. I can’t say that while looking Pootie Tang means you’ve wasted your time because you’ve certainly never seen anything like it. But I cannot in all conscience recommend it if you are looking for a slightly more conventional comedy.
