The US economy increased at a rate of 2.3% in the fourth quarter, in accordance with reading expectations and previous economists.
The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) of the Department of Commerce published its first revision of the gross domestic product estimate (GDP) of the fourth quarter, which found that the American economy increased at an annual rate of 2.3% in the fourth quarter, which takes place from October to December.
Economists interviewed by LSEG expected the economy to increase at a rate of 2.3% during the quarter. The preliminary estimate of the BEA of GDP during the quarter which was published last month also reached 2.3%, although economists expected growth of 2.6% at the time.
