The administration of President Donald Trump has adopted a more difficult position on the progress of Chinese technology, warning companies around the world that the use of artificial intelligence chips made by Huawei could trigger criminal sanctions for violating American export controls.
The Commerce Department has published advice to clarify that Huawei Ascending processors were subjected to export controls because they almost certainly contained or were manufactured with American technology.
His industry and security office, which oversees export controls, said on Tuesday that he announced reinforced rules for foreign AI chips, in particular “the publication of advice according to which the use of Huawei ascend chips anywhere in the world violates the American export controls”.
People familiar with the issue stressed that the office had not published a new rule, but clearly told companies that Huawei fleas probably violated a measure that requires difficult to obtain licenses to export American technology to Chinese society.

The advice occurs while the United States is increasingly concerned about the speed at which Huawei has developed advanced fleas and other AI materials.

Nvidia refused to comment on the new rules of the office. Huawei did not immediately respond to a request for comments.
The Commerce Department canceled the AA dissemination rule On Tuesday, a measure that the previous administration Biden had scheduled would take effect on May 15.
