Samsung is the 800-pound gorilla of CES, a global electronics giant that produces mobile devices, televisions, home theater products, and kitchen appliances, to name a few. It’s traditionally used at CES to remind the world that it’s a major contender in all of these areas, while also providing a peek behind the curtain of more cutting-edge technologies.
In 2024, for example, Samsung’s CES press conference covered all the usual iterative updates: new televisions, new projectors, new soundbars – but also offered first looks of truly futuristic products. And even though we won’t see the transparent MicroLED displays at local Best Buy anytime soon, you can already buy the Music Frame Speaker which was first presented at CES 2024. But it is the Robot Balliea two-time CES veteran, which we most hope will make a return appearance – ideally with an actual release date this time.
What to expect at the Samsung CES 2025 press conference
Or maybe Ballie will be more self-sufficient this time around. This would better fit the theme of “AI for Everyone: Everyday, Everywhere” that the company announced for its Las Vegas presentation. The Korean giant has already published several weeks of preliminary CES announcements in its online newsroomtouting AI-enhanced refrigerators and appliances with built-in screens. But there are also non-AI elements: Samsung pre-announced a 27-inch QD-OLED gaming monitorand the company is partnering with Google (!) to offer Eclipsa, a new 3D audio technology that apparently aims to be an alternative to Dolby Atmos and DTS.
One thing you shouldn’t expect to see in Vegas: the rumored Galaxy S25 smartphone lineup. If it follows its recent schedule, Samsung will likely schedule this unveiling for the second half of January, when it will have the tech spotlight. (Last year it was a January 17 event, which was announced on January 11.)
