Smith and Dillard knew that publishing their interview with R. Kelly on their Podcast “intimate tea with a & p” could make them drag them on the internet.

However, they went forward to do so and do not seem to regret their actions despite the reactions.

The duo spoke to Tmz In the middle of the buzz, their interview with Kelly generated and revealed that it had happened accidentally.

They said they interviewed another detainee who had told them that he was in the same prison as the R&B singer in disgrace. The detainee then found a way to put Kelly on the line.

Smith and Dillard shared that they had no problem with the interview in advance because they did not discuss Kelly’s case with him.

The singer incarcerated is subject to an order of gag while using his conviction for several accusations, including forced work, the sexual exploitation of a minor and the violations of the Mann Act.

Although not everyone was comfortable to interview R. Kelly in prison, the Podcast hosts explained why they agreed with that.

Dillard said: “We are only 2 people who are able to separate the art from the artist.”

They also revealed that the responses to the interview had been mixed, which did not surprise them, given that many people had canceled Kelly after his conviction. However, they said, “When R. Kelly calls, you answer.”

Smith and Dillard also noted that they had launched their podcast because they wanted to work on the reform of the prisons.

Podcast hosts generally speak of non -famous prisoners, and their conversations mainly concern prison conditions. However, they were lucky when Kelly became guest in their show.

Kelly’s efforts to regain his freedom suffered a setback in February after a federal court confirmed his racketeering sentences and his sentence of three decades.

However, despite the decision, his lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean, said that the singer was full of hope and resilient and will continue to fight for his freedom and justice.

After clips from R. Kelly’s podcast interview, several Internet users have shared their reflections on her eagerness to release new prison albums.

Many of those who reacted to the interview wondered why he had been given an audience.

A second person expressed his surprise that Kelly could do an interview with the prison podcast, while a third commentator wrote: “Why do we interview it exactly? Why do women smile while interviewing him exactly?”

During the special of the 50th anniversary “SNL”, there was an “in Memoriam” segment which highlighted some of the most sadly famous former guests in the series.

The list included Kelly, Oj Simpson, Jared Fogle and Robert Blake, who had all made the headlines for bad reasons.

However, Kelly’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean criticized the show, suggesting that some names that could be deemed more “problematic” have been left out. Bonjean said Tmz“Rather arrogant than SNL sees it as their work to decide, late, which should and should not be canceled.”
