What defines real luxury in hospitality? The former president of Oberoi hotels, Kapil Chopra, thinks that it is not only opulence, but an experience so transparent and personal that even someone as Elon Musk would choose to stay.

On the podcast “Create wealth with Sandeep Jethwani”, Chopra shared her vision behind the postcard hotel, a luxury chain in store redefining Indian hospitality, founded by him.

His approach? No recording / starting time, breakfast all day, free drinks and a deep integration of local heritage.

“A criterion to make sure that you are building a world-class hotel experience is to answer this question: if a world traveler, let’s say Elon Musk, would he like to stay here with his family? If the answer is yes, let’s build it. If the answer is no, let’s not build it,” says the hotelier who has become an entrepreneur.

He also developed 4 key steps to build a luxury hotel:

Welcome warm: The first impression sets the tone. He says guests must feel at home as soon as they arrive.

Anticipation service: The real luxury is to know what the guest needs before asking. “A guest arriving after 10 p.m. is probably an international flight, tired and shifted to Jets. So, instead of paperwork, offer them tea, take their laundry and define an alarm clock, ”he explains.

Zero-default product: Perfection is not an objective, it is a non -negotiable standard.

Affectionate farewells: Each farewell should be as personal as reception. At the Postcard hotel, the complex of the complex must welcome you and the responsible for the complex must say goodbye.

Chopra, who is also the founder of Eazydiner – a table reservation platform and restoration payment payment, says that the ultimate objective is to set a new standard that even the world’s hospitality brands would aspire to reproduce.
