The double female champion of NXT, which shot a third historical reign of title at the NXT Vengeance Day on Saturday, was among those who were shocked.
Perez told Fox News Digital in a recent interview she had known Starks since she was younger and was delighted to see him on the brand. In addition, she didn’t even know he was going to be there.
“It was great. I have known Ricky Starks since I was literally 15 years old. He came to Texas as I did, so we really met a lot,” she said. “I didn’t even know he was going to be there. I didn’t even see him go out in the crowd. I saw him on the television screen with everyone and it made me so happy Because he is great.

Starks had not appeared AEW since last March and had been seen in some cases in the fight for game changers, House of Glory and Defy.
Fans applauded in the stands when he showed up.
“It is obvious that you know who I am,” he said. “If NXT is the future of professional struggle, guess what? You need an absolute superstar of the future. If it is the hottest brand, you need the hottest free agent right now , baby.”
Perez added that she hoped that Starks emerging on NXT will lead to a kind of work together.
“To see him here now and I hope maybe working with him, it’s going to be great.”

Perez will seek to hand over the NXT women’s championship in a deadly four -way match against the current champion Giulia, Bayley and Cora Jade.
