A few hours before starting the new year, the CEO of X, formerly Twitterannounced that the platform would launch a payment system, X Money, in 2025.
In a Message On Tuesday afternoon, CEO Linda Yaccarino declared that users “are the media” and announced that “X will connect you in ways never thought possible.”
She then referenced X TV, X Money, Grok “and more.”
“Fasten your seat belt. Happy New Year” wrote Yaccarino.
A official X account called “Payments”, @XMoney, was created in January.

As of Tuesday afternoon, the account had more than 140,000 followers.
