I constantly test Different iPad cases. When I have finished, I always come back to Logitech Combo Touch. With an adjustable crutch and a detachable keyboard, he has everything I need. The ZAGG Pro Keys 2 imitates many capacities of the Logitech accessory but at a lower price, so I was delighted to try it, thinking that I may have found a new favorite. Unfortunately, he fails.

It is not completely identical to the Logitech affair – it is much more protective, with a folio coverage which doubles a kickstand (with adjustable angles) and a detachable keyboard which is between the two. There is no trackpad – which means that I have to wrap a mouse or constantly lift my finger on the screen – and the whole configuration is heavy and clumsy. At $ 150, this is one of the most affordable iPad Pro keyboard cases. But its faults are annoying enough for the lower price perhaps does not matter.

Protective but elegant

The Keys Pro 2 that I test is specifically constructed for the 13 -inch iPad Pro (M4, 2024)Although you can also buy it for the 11 -inch iPad Pro (M4) as well as both And 11 -inch iPad Air (M2). It consists of two rooms: the case and the keyboard.

Click on the keyboard in place using the magnets and you can use the iPad Pro as a laptop. The configuration seems more modern than the first generation professional keys, with a square instead of round touches (which I prefer) and backlit – with the option of cycling between colors like green, blue and red. There are bulbs under each key, so it is brilliant enough to type in darker environments. But certain parts of the keyboard (such as side keys and function line keys) shine brighter than Qwerty keys, so the lighting is uneven. Adjusting the brightness with the backlight key did not seem to make a lot of difference. Zagg has also added more surface under the keyboard to rest your palms while tapping.

It is comfortable to type for long periods (I used it to type this review), although a trackpad was the icing on the top, especially since there is a lot of space (the model of first generation Has a trackpad version). Even if I have been using the case for a few weeks now, I always find myself accidentally towards the middle to slide an imaginary trackpad by habit. The keyboard is connected to Bluetooth, so you will have to associate it with the iPad (you can connect up to two devices) and load it. Zagg claims up to a year of autonomy, so you don’t have to worry about connecting it constantly.

The second generation version has a slot on the side for the Apple pencil rather than a flap to keep it in place. It’s much more aesthetic, but I want Zagg to match it with the case. Instead, it is made up of the same light rubber as bumpers around the iPad and seems cheap. The bumper also goes under the slit, but it will not bother the load wireless.

This case seems super protective, so much so that it looks like many robust case that I tested. In addition to the rubber edges, the rest of the case is plastic with a soft and matt sensation. The folio cover can be folded in a support and adjusted to two angles. It was good to watch television (it was solid enough to stay straight on the sofa without overthrow) and to be used as a laptop. But it does not offer as many angles as a shit outfit.
