Here’s What Happened After the MTA Bus Crash and Update on the Pilot
Two tow trucks worked together to pull the bus on solid ground. Firefighters also participated in the work, according to Pix11. Despite the chaos, police confirmed they got the driver out of the bus safely. The 37-year MTA veteran escaped unscathed.
Additionally, Yonkers Depot President Marcos Soler spoke with ABC 7 News about this frightening incident. Soler said the car parked on the road reduces the space available for the MTA bus driver.
“The way the car is tilted and parked doesn’t follow the curb, which limits the space we have. Express buses take longer than local buses. So that makes traveling a little bit difficult for the express operator because we have 45 feet and the local buses are 40 feet. Soler explained.
