The first day of the Cheltenham Festival experienced an impressive victory of victories for Kopek des Bordes and Lossiemouth and a dramatic champion who saw Constitution Hill and State Man crash.
After a brief reversal, the main protagonists come back for the second day or the style on Wednesday as it is now known. Previously women, it has been renamed to be more inclusive.
The race of the day is titled by the race of feature films, the champion of the Queen Mother Chase at 1600 in which Jonbon is the turn of the stars.
Map
1.20 – Hord of novice turners
A grade 1 competition that was dominated by Irish coaches with 10 victories since 2014.
This can be 11 with the final demand for the load of Willie Mullins the favorite at 6/4.
2.00 – Chase of BROWN wise novices
It is easy to see why Mullins has dominated the festival in recent years, because it also leads the top two of the horses classified in it – Ballyburn and Dancing City.
2.40 – Corail cup
It is again Mullins who will make the favorite in this race with Bunting. However, Coral Cup is renowned for its volatility, so it can be better examined by bets in each direction. Jipcot at 25/1 looks good at a price.
3.20 – Cross country chase
An unusual race which follows a different course before reaching the main track for the final stages. Mr. Coffey should go to 15/2.
4.00 – Champion of the Queen Mother Chase
Go forward Nicky Henderson and Jonbon.
One of the best hunters of his generation, Jonbon has rarely played in Cheltenham and a festival victory is all that is missing from his CV.
If you are looking for value, try Quilixios around 28/1.
4.40 – Grand Chase Handicapped Annual
Harry Skelton rides the favorite – unexpected party – in it.
The king of Prs is a sly bet around 9/1.
5.20 – Bumper champion
The only race for the festival not to present hedges is a competition for young horses that are not yet ready for jumps.
Weather report
There may be Grésillons showers first, but it will happen and it will be a dry but cold day.
