Russian President Vladimir Putin apologized to the Azerbaijani president for the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines plane in Russian airspace, the Kremlin announced on Saturday. Dozens of passengers were killed and injured in the crash, which aviation experts say may have been hit by Russian air defense systems in response to a Ukrainian drone attack.
