The Rangers have described their “disdain” for a minority of supporters whose actions led to an accusation of UEFA.

The European football director disciplined the Glasgow Club after some fans of the Rangers hoisted a banner who said “ keep woke wokeologies outside – defend Europe ” during Last Thursday, the Europa League comes up against Fenerbahce.

The club published a declaration strongly written this morning, which said: “It is deeply sad and frankly embarrassing that the club is now ready to face important sanctions for the actions of a very small minority.

“First of all, the club was charged by UEFA after a handful of supporters displayed what UEFA describes as a” racist and / or discriminatory banner “at the Ibrox meeting last Thursday with Fenerbahce.

“Rangers are a modern and progressive football club, and we are fiercely proud of our various games, labor and support. For the club to be accused of such a question in 2025 is shameful, and the disdain for those responsible will be shared by the overwhelming majority of our supporters.

“This accusation will result in consequences for the club, while the club also works to identify the officials and ensure that they are also facing consequences.

“To avoid doubt, if you do not believe in 2025 that everyone is invited to follow the Rangers, whether at Ibrox or outside, then the Rangers are not the club for you, and you must dissociate yourself immediately with the club.”

Rangers face new charges

The declaration explains that the UEFA also instructed the club for the launch of objects and the blocking of passages at the Fener game.

It is an unnecessary distraction for the Rangers after having beat Jose Mourinho’s men during a penalty shot to reach the quarter-finals of the Europa League and supported this with a memorable 3-2 victory in Glasgow Rivals Celtic on Sunday.

The declaration concluded: “All the above behaviors will have consequences for the club, and directly or indirectly, the club supporters.

“The Rangers as a club will be held alongside our supporters and defend their rights and their ability to support the team in the most passionate way possible within the limits of the law and the appropriate regulations.

“However, the club also calls on all reasonable supporters to unreservedly reject any behavior that hurts on behalf of the Rangers and to help the club challenging the problems that will lead the club to be punished more by the competent authorities.”
