Alex Iwobi has described Fulham as “one big brotherhood” and says his teammates fear no one in the Premier League.

The Nigerian midfielder, who is enjoying an impressive campaign under Marco Silva, believes that the positive atmosphere on and off the field played a key role in the players’ performance.

At 28, Iwobi has already matched his best tally of five Premier League goals, matching last season’s tally with half the season remaining.

Additionally, the ever-present midfielder contributed three assists and had a strong influence on Fulham’s run.

“We really fight for each other,” Iwobi told the BBC.

“You can see it on the field, but off the field, what the cameras don’t capture is that we really are one big brotherhood.

“It’s a nice environment, the chemistry is really good and I feel like it’s helping us get the results we need.”

Fulham currently sit eighth in the Premier League, just three points behind fifth-placed Newcastle United, and are on an impressive seven-match unbeaten run.

Iwobi credits manager Silva for fostering the “feeling of unity” that drives the team forward.

“I have the impression [I am] I just express myself a little more,” Iwobi added.

“The manager gives me that license and freedom to try and take more goalscoring opportunities. Even if I make a mistake, he says, “Alex, do it again.” »

“Having this confidence from him, [and] my teammates support me, we feel almost unstoppable. You are ready to try and do anything on the field.

Fulham have not finished higher than 10th in the Premier League since the 2011-12 season.

However, with the team performing at such a high level, Iwobi is optimistic about their chances of breaking into the European places.

“We have the players and I haven’t played in Europe for a long time, so it’s a dream I want to achieve again,” he said.

“We are not afraid of anyone. We are confident that we can compete with anyone and take three points. The sky is the limit.
