Sri Lanka’s MAS Holdings to expand in India with new Odisha facility

Mas Holdings wants to create an established presence in India and strengthen its production capacities in the region.

The creation of this factory should offer substantial advantages to the wider MAS network, mainly based in Sri Lanka, by promoting stronger regional collaborations which are conducive to growth and commercial prospects.

The company plans to transform the 60 -acres site into a complete clothing center by collaborating with strategic partners to improve its presence in the Indian State of Odisha.

The new installation will favor the manufacture of large value clothes suitable for Indian and global markets.

The company should capitalize on the robust manufacturing environment of India while relying on the established operational power of Mas in Sri Lanka.

The CEO of Mas India, Malik Ahamadeen, said: “Mas is delighted to take this important step in the creation of a strong clothing ecosystem in the region. Mas Holdings operates in 14 countries with a 100,000 workforce. The company has developed its portfolio to include portable technology, female parks, start-ups, logistics and fabric parks, in addition to lingerie, sportswear and swimwear.

The conglomerate also has design locations in the main global style centers to support its extended operations.
