Vietnam proposed to suppress all prices on American imports after Donald Trump announced a 46% sample on the Southeast Asian Nation, according to a letter of April 5 from the Vietnam Communist Party.
The offer was made by Party Chief in Lam in a letter to the American president seen by Bloomberg. In the letter, LAM asked the United States not to apply additional prices or costs to Vietnamese goods and asked to postpone the implementation of the price announced by Trump last week by at least 45 days after April 9.
The letter confirms Trump’s comments on Friday on its Truth social network, following a call between the two leaders. Vietnam, which has become more and more an alternative for manufacturing and key export to China, was slapped with one of the highest rate rates in the world last Wednesday.
