We are less than 24 hours away from the Super Bowl Lix, and some NFL fans have already switched to the 2025-26 season.
The Super Bowl LX is expected to take place in Santa Clara, California, on February 8, 2026, and there are already certain teams which should be considered favored in this match. The Philadelphia Eagles seem ready to take another race for the Lombardi trophy. Although they have undergone a beat, the chiefs are always a threat to win the Super Bowl as long as Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid are together.
With franchises that already looked at the Super Bowl LX, let us determine the four teams most likely to appear in the big match of next year.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles have a legitimate shot to win consecutive titles.
Jalen Huts has been under contract for at least three years more, while Saquon has another season before Philly had a potential option after 2026. Extension of the contract with the Eagles soon. Meanwhile, four of their five nail offensive line players are under contract for at least a year more, which means that Eagles can make it work in 2025 with the best offensive line in the NFL.
They will have to make commercial decisions on the defensive side of the ball. I expect the second Zack Baun to sign a high contract extension this season out of season after having led Philly in the plated during the regular season and the playoffs. The joints of defensive lines Josh Sweat and Milton Williams also won contracts renewed with the way they played in the Super Bowl.
Philly will have to replace certain significant backups / contributors on both sides of the ball. The offensive line player Mekhi Becton, the defensive winger Brandon Graham, the ball carrier Kenneth Gainwell and the second Oren Burks are all planned to become free agents this season. However, I am convinced that the Eagles will find solid replacements for all these guys.
With most of the PHILLY key coaches and coaches who stay with the team for the next two years, they should argue for a Super Bowl in 2025-2026.
Chiefs of Kansas City
Just because the chiefs lost the Super Bowl Lix, that doesn’t mean they don’t face Super Bowl LX. In fact, I would say that the 2025-26 chefs will be a bigger threat to win the Super Bowl than the Chiefs of 2024-25, because they will be motivated to make people forget the people they suffered last night.
Patrick Mahomes is still under contract with the chiefs for at least the next three years. Meanwhile, head coach Andy Reid has signed an extension during the dead-season who will maintain him in KC until 2029 unless he decides to retire before that. With these two to direct the accusation, the Chiefs are a threat to make the Super Bowl each year, just like Tom Brady and Bill Belichick were for the New England Patriots.
At the same time, the defensive player All-Pro Chris Jones should play at least two additional seasons for KC, so that the best defensive player in the chiefs will return next season. In addition, Travis Kelce will probably return to the team in 2025-26, so it is two massively important contributors that Kansas City returned next year.
The chiefs will have to be active in the free agency and the project. Six of their most productive wide receivers and runners are planned to be free agents this dead season. They will also have to determine if they want to bring back the player of offensive line Trey Smith and the second Nick Bolton.
If they can ensure their skill position groups, sign Bolton and upgrade along the offensive line, there is no reason why KC can not reach a fourth consecutive Super Bowl in 2026.
Detroit lions
Although I am a fan of Green Bay Packers, I will be the first to admit that I thought that the Lions of Detroit were going to run away with the NFC. Despite all their injuries, they still managed to record the most victories in a single season in the history of the franchise with 15. Unfortunately, the injuries and the poor preparation of the offensive and defensive coordinators of Detroit caught them during The divisional tour of the NFL 2025 qualifiers. If guys like the defensive line players Aidan Hutchinson and Alim McNeil had played against the Washington Camanders, this match could have left differently.
The Lions have lost the two best NFL coordinators, but many of the other key parts of 2024-25 will still be there next season. Head coach Dan Campbell, the quarter-Arrière Jared Goff, the ball carrier Jahmyr Gibbs, the offensive line player Penei Sewell and the Large Herk Amon-Ra St. Brown will all be back in Detroit next year. They will also return several defensive contributors, including the second Jack Campbell, the Coin Demi Amik Robertson, the security Kerby Joseph and the second Alex Anzalone.
Aidan Hutchinson will play a huge role in the success of the Lions next year. If he can perform next year as he played before breaking his leg, he could potentially win the defensive player award of the year. This type of contribution would be invaluable for a team that has just sold 45 points in the playoffs.
It will take replacements made throughout the list. With Carlton Davis III, Kindle Vildor, Ifeatu Melifonwu, Khalil Dorsey and Emmanuel Mosley to become free agents, the lions will have to re-sign some of these guys or replace them with the project and the free agency. They will also have to add an offensive line depth with Kevin Zeitler and Dan Skipper who should test the market for free agents.
More importantly, Detroit must compensate for the production they have lost in the defensive coordinator and the attacking coordinator. If the former Denver Broncos game coordinator, John Morton, and the former coach of Detroit’s seconds, Kelvin Sheppard, can take the blows as a game player, the lions will be in a privileged position to compete for the Super Bowl in 2026.
Buffalo bills
The Buffalo Bills are there in the thickness of the Super Bowl hunting with the Chiefs of Kansas City, but they have not yet been able to overcome the bump. However, they should be considered one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl LX.
The quarter-Arrière Josh Allen has just spent the best year of his career with only three professionals on the list (two of whom were attacking lines). Buffalo must make a few splashing movements this dead season. Bushing for Myles Garrett de Cleveland or Maxx Crosby de Las Vegas would be the type of decision that could change the complexion of this team and the AFC as a whole. It also did not hurt to sign a real large number one receiver like the Cincinatti or Davante Adams of New York’s Higgins.
Buffalo is expected to compete for a super bowl next season if they are making none of the aforementioned movements. However, they would be considered a much more serious threat to hoist the Lombardi trophy if they could bring another star or two.
