Aston Villa Unai Emery manager said new signatures Marco Asensio and Marcus Rashford will help them in the Champions League when they face the Brugge club on Tuesday.

Asensio has scored four times in his last three appearances while Rashford has been a creative force since his arrival on loan from Manchester United.

Villa suffered a defeat in Bruges in November, going down to a bizarre penalty in the second half after Tyrone Mings took the ball from Emiliano Martinez.

Emery said, “We have added players with experience in Europe, generally they play in the highest level and they will help us a lot, but we will see it.

“The process they do, gradually adapt to us is well and also improves – how we want to try to use our structure, defensively, offensively.

“We are not going to get our goal via only individual players. We will get our objective collectively, building our structure as strong as possible.

“Then our individual players can display their skills. This is the challenge we have, it’s my challenge, the players’ challenge and everyone has the goal, I hope we can share together, get our goal in the next three months. »»

Emery expects his players to produce a performance in Belgium – and if they win two villas Villa will face PSG or Liverpool in the last eight.

Emery said, “When we played here, we did not compete as I want to do. And, of course, the players they know, and we analyzed why we did not compete at that time.

“I hope we can do more. We have to get balance and play, trying to manage our emotions well, because now, of course, it’s a key moment for the season, tomorrow and the second stage of this competition.

“And we have to try to play responsibility, be mature and emotionally stronger.”
